GDSNZ members enjoy a stimulating range of events including speakers, both international and local experts in their field, practical workshops and a variety of site visits. An active Events Committee also organises group trips to explore gardens and visit specialist suppliers of plants, landscaping materials, garden art and sculpture in other parts of the country. Group visits to conferences and garden events both here and abroad are encouraged and supported. All of these activities provide plenty of opportunity to exchange ideas and keep in touch with the latest developments in the industry. We livestream as many of our events as we can so members distanced by geography or illness can still participate.
We welcome non-members to our evening talks held during the winter months and a lot of our events for a $25 fee. Wine and nibbles are often provided with an extra small charge for drinks. Tickets and information is available on the individual event listings below. Please join us!

A major source of inspiration for both Tom and Sue has been the garden they have created together over the last 35 years at The Barn, Serge Hill in Hertfordshire, England. Their beautifully illustrated talk will weave together the story of their own garden, as well as their community based project and plant library in the orchard at Serge Hill.
