Auckland Garden DesignFest  2027

​Mark your calendars now! The Auckland Garden DesignFest, a biennial event, returns in 2027 for the 8th time since its' inception in 2011. Our event dates will be Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st November, 2027.

 

This unique event raises the profile of garden design, creates a sustainable platform for designers (a lot of whom are GDSNZ members) to show their work and craft, and proceeds from ticket sales go to chosen charities, a lot of whom benefit children and young people.

If you are garden designer and have a garden you would like to put forward for consideration and inclusion in our 2027 event please reach out now. We hope to begin assessment of suitable gardens in October/November 2026.

This event would not be possible without the help of over 180 volunteers. You can help the team now or join us during the event weekend for a 'shift' on a garden gate checking tickets and wristbands or inside a garden. We'd love your help! The Auckland Garden DesignFest in November 2024 was the most successful ever, raising over $70,000 for charities, eclipsing the 2022 record total of $60,000.

Over 1,000 people visited many of the gardens and the most common feedback was that visitors loved the variety and quality of gardens on offer. The quality was so high, most were doing their best to get around as many as possible.​

​

The festival was made possible by the incredible generosity of owners opening their private gardens, our designers, alongside our very generous and supportive sponsors.
