    Clare Talbot - www.sculptgardens.co.nz

Claire Talbot has been working in the landscape design business since 2016 when she launched Claire Talbot Garden Design after leaving Unitec with a Certificate in Garden Design & NZ Gardener Award for Top Student in 2015.

After a rebrand in 2019 to Sculpt Gardens to encompass the long-term synergistic collaboration with Naomi Gray (Accredited Member of GDSNZ), Sculpt Gardens has now grown to a team of 4 landscape designers supported by a planting & maintenance team of 10 sparkly gardeners.

Sculpt Gardens prides itself on being a female-founded business with a culture that respects the overlaps between personal & work life. In this informal conversation, Claire will share the nitty gritty about her business - from the finances & what Sculpt charges, the suppliers & partnered businesses,  the studio's design process,  and technologies used to support the business to how Claire's personal & professional development has been key to growing the business.

    Anna Pepper design - www.annapepperdesign.com

    Graduate to Start-up

A career with its roots in Fashion design & global consumer marketing, Anna sought a return to her love of design and a more earnest profession, after a major family health scare.

3yrs new to the landscape design profession, Anna formalised her business Anna Pepper Design Ltd in 2020 (yes in the middle of a pandemic) after graduating top of Class in both Unitec’s NZ Cert. Hort Land & NZ Dip Land.  Anna designs & manages the installation of residential landscapes, predominantly in the Auckland eastern bays and recently Lake Taupo with a team of like-minded freelance designers.

The last two years have been a baptism of fire. The setup of the back end of the business became a priority to be able to focus on the fun stuff.   Offering top Unitec landscape design graduates freelance apprenticeships, increased design capacity and injected fresh thinking and a lot of fun into her business.  As did partnering with like minded agencies inc accountants, marketers, insurance brokers, lawyers, planners, fabulous wholesalers, nurseries & landscaping craftspeople.
