Pechakucha 2024 | Humanity. How people and communities inspire creative processes
Our famous Pechakucha night is back! Arguably our most popular event of the year when 7 of our accredited members will entertain, educate and inspire us and fill the hunger in us all to know what each other are doing and thinking.
Time & Location
Jul 23, 2024, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Eden Community Church & Livestream, 72-74 View Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1024, New Zealand
About the Event
SIX of our Accredited Members and Fellows; practising designers and academics, will take us through pechakucha-style presentations.Â
Humanity is a key element in Kathryn Gustafson landscape designs. Kathryn inspired us all with her lectures and masterclasses when she came to Aotearoa in February/March 2024.
We asked our accredited members and fellows 'How have people and/or communities inspired your creative processes?'
Their responses are their presentations and they are sure to inspire you.
6 speakers: 7 minutes each
1 speaker: 20 plus minutes
Our speaker line-up is:
Val Puxty
Antoinette van der Weeden
Richard Neville
Jill Rice
Naomi Gray
Alex McClew
And as a very special treat, our Patron; Rod Barnett - Professor of Landscape Architecture and Head of the School of Architecture at Te Herenga Waka, Victoria University of Wellington, is going to give a presentation in a non-Pechakucha style format. Previously Chair of Landscape Architecture at Washington University in St Louis, Rod returned to Aotearoa New Zealand to link his fascination with nonlinear landscapes to the emergence of co-design in this country. We are honoured to have Rod share his thoughts with us.
