Kia ora e te whānau,
Taking on this role of president is very new to me but I’m very grateful that among the society are many warm faces who have supported me from the time I was very young and learning my way in this profession. I took on this role because of my gratitude to these members of the society who always backed me and other young and developing designers, celebrating our steps towards professional excellence. To me, this is most important, that the society be a place where we can celebrate each other, both those who have mastered their art and those who are developing their skills. To those of you who I don’t know and who might be new and starting out I look forward to getting to know you as part of our whānau so we can inspire and support each other and most importantly enjoy each other’s company.
Please bring your ideas to us and feel comfortable challenging us to keep moving the society forward.
I look forward to supporting the work of our National Committee that has a wealth of knowledge and experience and to trying to keep up with them!
