Bill Holden has been in the landscape industry for over 25 years, and in that time, has achieved award winning status for his work, both at the Ellerslie International Flower Show (where he has also judged) and in the Landscaping N.Z. National Awards.

In 1976 he began his professional life as a schoolteacher, then changed direction to follow his passion for the landscape, in 1987. He studied Landscape Design at Unitec in Auckland, formed a landscape ‘design and build’ company, and is a long standing accredited member of Landscaping New Zealand (LIANZ), in which he also served as president from 2008 to 2010. In 2008 he was presented the Distinguished Service Award for his service to the Landscape Industry.

He designs / manages the implementation of landscaping projects and also engages in plant brokerage (supply and placement of trees shrubs and plants). His company, Design and Landscape Ltd., currently operates between Auckland’s North Shore to Matakana/Omaha, working from his home-based office in Warkworth'.
